If your order is delayed
Most delays involve dealer scheduling or carrier volume rather than the order itself. Contact us if tracking hasn’t moved in four business days.
Shipping & Delivery
A short summary is below — the complete, current policy always lives on our Shipping Policy page.
Processing time
Orders placed before 2:00 PM Central on a business day are typically picked the same day; later orders begin processing the next business day.
Shipping methods
We ship with insured, tracked national carriers. Expedited options are offered where available and are quoted at checkout.
Delivery estimates
Transit time depends on the destination and service selected; estimates are shown at checkout and are not guarantees.
Tracking
You’ll receive confirmation, shipping and delivery emails. Tracking can take up to 24 hours to show initial movement.
Shipping restrictions
Firearms ship only to a licensed FFL dealer, never to a residential address. Ammunition requires an adult signature and cannot ship to a PO box or into jurisdictions that restrict it.
Address changes
Contact us immediately if you need to change a shipping or dealer address — changes can only be made before an order ships.
Delayed shipments
Weather, carrier volume and dealer scheduling can all cause delays. Contact us if tracking shows no movement for four business days.
Lost or damaged packages
Report damage or a suspected loss promptly, with photos where possible, so we can open a claim with the carrier.

Frequently Asked Questions
Buying a firearm online is straightforward once you know how the process works. Below are the questions our customers ask most often about eligibility, shipping, FFL transfers, returns, payment and verification. Tap any question to see the answer.
Eligibility
Who is eligible to buy a firearm from Range Ready Supply?
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a long gun (rifle or shotgun) and at least 21 years old to purchase a handgun, handgun-only ammunition or an NFA item. You must also be legally allowed to own a firearm under federal, state and local law, and you cannot be a prohibited person under 18 U.S.C. § 922(g). Eligibility is confirmed by your licensed dealer when the background check is run, not at the time you place the order.
Do I need a permit or license to order online?
In most states no permit is required to place the order. Any permit, purchase licence, firearms ID card or waiting period required in your state is handled by the receiving dealer at the time of transfer, so bring that paperwork with you when you pick the firearm up. Accessories, optics and most ammunition can be ordered without any permit.
Can I buy a firearm as a gift or for someone else?
No. You must be the actual purchaser. Buying a firearm on behalf of another person, known as a straw purchase, is a federal felony and we will cancel any order we believe is a straw purchase. If you want to buy for a friend or family member, use a gift card and let them complete the purchase and background check in their own name.
Are there state or local restrictions I should know about?
Yes. Magazine capacity limits, feature restrictions, approved handgun rosters, ammunition permits and shipping bans all vary by state, county and city. Please review our State Restrictions page before ordering. If an item cannot legally ship to your location we will cancel that line and refund it in full.
Shipping
How long will it take for my order to ship?
In-stock orders normally leave our warehouse within one to three business days once payment has cleared and, for firearms, once your dealer’s licence is on file and verified. You will receive a tracking number by email as soon as the parcel is collected. Orders placed on weekends or public holidays begin processing the next business day.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on weight, destination and product type. Ammunition, gun safes and other heavy or hazmat-regulated items carry higher freight charges and may ship separately from the rest of your order. Any free-shipping promotion in effect will be applied automatically in the cart.
Where do you ship, and can you deliver to a PO box?
We ship within the United States only. Firearms and ammunition cannot be sent to a PO box, a freight forwarder or an APO/FPO address, and some carriers will not move ammunition to Alaska or Hawaii. International orders are not accepted. Non-restricted accessories can usually go to any valid US street address.
What should I do if my package arrives damaged or is missing?
Inspect the parcel before you sign for it. If the outer carton is crushed, open or shows signs of tampering, note it with the driver and photograph it. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and the photos so we can file a carrier claim. If tracking shows delivered but nothing arrived, let us know within five business days.
Transfers
What is an FFL transfer and why is one required?
Federal law does not allow a firearm to be shipped directly to a private individual. Every firearm must be delivered to a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) in your state. That dealer receives the firearm, has you complete ATF Form 4473, runs the background check, and releases the firearm to you once it is approved. The transfer is the legal handover, and it is the last step of every firearm order.
How do I choose my dealer, and what does the transfer cost?
Select a dealer from the FFL locator during checkout or send us your preferred dealer’s contact details and we will request a copy of their licence. We only ship to a dealer whose licence is on file and current. The dealer sets their own transfer fee, typically in the range of $25 to $50 per firearm, and that fee is paid directly to them, not to us.
What do I need to bring when I collect my firearm?
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID showing your current address in that state, any permit, licence or firearms card your state requires, and payment for the dealer’s transfer fee. If the address on your ID is out of date, most dealers will also want a supporting document such as a vehicle registration or tax notice. Some states impose a waiting period between the paperwork and the release.
Returns
Can I return a firearm?
Once a firearm has been transferred to you it cannot be returned to us, because federal law then treats it as a used firearm. If there is a manufacturing defect, the manufacturer’s warranty service is the correct route and we will help you open that claim. If you notice damage or the wrong model while you are still at the dealer, do not accept the transfer, ask the dealer to hold it and contact us the same day.
What is the return window for ammunition and accessories?
Unused, unopened accessories, optics and gear in their original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund. For safety reasons ammunition, primers, powder, black powder components and any item with a broken factory seal cannot be returned. Special-order and clearance items are final sale unless they arrive faulty.
How and when will I get my refund?
Request a return authorisation before shipping anything back, then send the item to the address we provide. Once it arrives and has been inspected we issue the refund to your original payment method, usually within five to seven business days, though your bank may take a further few days to post it. Original shipping charges are not refundable and a restocking fee may apply to opened or incomplete returns.
Payment
Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit and debit cards along with the other payment options shown at checkout. Payment is taken in US dollars. We do not accept cash, personal cheques or cryptocurrency, and for security reasons our staff will never ask you for card details by phone, email or chat.
When is my card charged, and why did I see an authorisation hold?
Your card is authorised when the order is placed and charged when the order is accepted for processing. If an authorisation fails or your bank flags the transaction, the order is held until payment clears. A pending authorisation that does not turn into a charge is released by your bank automatically, normally within three to five business days.
Do you offer layaway or gift cards?
Yes. Gift cards can be bought in any amount and are the correct way to let someone else choose and legally purchase their own firearm. Layaway lets you reserve an item with a deposit and pay the balance over time; the firearm ships once it is paid in full.
Verification
Why do you need to verify my identity or age?
We are legally required to confirm that the buyer meets the minimum age for the item ordered and that the order is not being placed on someone else’s behalf. Age and identity checks also protect you against card fraud and account takeover. Anything you send us for verification is used only for that purpose and is stored securely.
How is my dealer’s licence verified and how long does it take?
We compare the licence your dealer sends against the ATF FFL eZ Check database and confirm the name, premises address and expiry date. Most licences are verified within one business day. Your order will not ship until that check is complete, so choosing a dealer we already have on file is the quickest option.
What happens if I do not pass the background check?
The dealer cannot release the firearm to you. It is returned to us and we refund the purchase price less outbound and return shipping and any applicable restocking fee. The transfer fee you paid your dealer is theirs and cannot be refunded by us. If you believe the result was wrong you can appeal directly to the FBI NICS through their Voluntary Appeal File process.
