Warranty & Repairs
Firearm Warranty and Repairs Overview
Our firearm warranty and repairs process is designed to get you back to the range quickly. Whether you need a manufacturer repair or a straightforward parts replacement, this firearm warranty and repairs guide walks through every step.
Almost everything we sell carries a manufacturer warranty, and many optics, knives and lights carry lifetime cover. This page explains who covers what, how to open a claim that actually gets approved, and what we do to help when a manufacturer goes quiet on you.

Why firearm faults go to the manufacturer
Once a firearm has been transferred to you, it is legally yours and legally a used firearm. Sending it back to a retailer would require another transfer in each direction, adding weeks and dealer fees for no benefit. Manufacturers, by contrast, can receive a firearm directly from its lawful owner for warranty service, and their armourers know the platform far better than any retailer does. It is faster, cheaper and produces a better repair.
Opening a claim that gets approved
- Gather your proof of purchaseYour invoice, with the date and serial number. It is in your account, and we will email a copy on request.
- Describe the fault properlyWhat happens, when it happens, how often, with which ammunition and after how many rounds. Failures to feed with one magazine and one load are a different problem to failures with everything.
- Rule out the obvious firstAmmunition, magazines, lubrication, cleanliness and mounting torque cause the majority of reported faults. Try a different magazine and a different box of factory ammunition before you post anything, and check that optic rings are torqued to specification.
- Contact the manufacturerMost have an online warranty portal. They will issue a return authorisation and, for a genuine warranty fault, usually a prepaid label.
- Ship it lawfullyA firearm may be shipped by its owner to the manufacturer for repair and returned directly to the owner. Follow the manufacturer instructions exactly, insure it, and never include ammunition in the box.
- Tell us if it stallsIf a claim goes past a reasonable time or is rejected for a reason you do not understand, send us the claim number. We speak to these companies weekly and can often move things along.
What warranties typically cover
- Covered: defects in materials and workmanship, parts that fail in normal use, and in many cases the cost of shipping in both directions.
- Not covered: normal wear, finish wear, corrosion from poor storage, damage from handloaded or remanufactured ammunition, obstructed barrels, unauthorised modification, and abuse or neglect.
- Varies by brand: transferability to a second owner, whether registration is required, and the length of cover on springs, magazines and electronics.
Optics, lights and electronics
Several optics manufacturers offer a lifetime, no-questions warranty that transfers with the product, which is a large part of why premium glass holds its value. Electronic sights usually carry a shorter, separate warranty on the electronics and battery components, so read the two terms separately. Register your optic where the manufacturer asks for it, since an unregistered product occasionally means a slower claim.
Repairs outside warranty
Once a warranty has expired or a modification has voided it, a qualified gunsmith is the right answer. Ask about their experience with your specific platform, get a written estimate before work begins, and remember that a firearm can be shipped lawfully to a licensed gunsmith. We are happy to suggest what to ask for even where we are not involved in the work.
Recalls and safety notices
When a manufacturer issues a recall or safety notice on something we have sold, we contact affected customers directly using the order records we hold. Recall work is always free of charge and should never be ignored, however inconvenient it seems. If you hear of a recall before we contact you, get in touch and we will confirm whether your serial number is in scope.

Get warranty helpReturn policyStarting a Firearm Warranty and Repairs Claim
To start a firearm warranty and repairs claim, gather your original receipt, the serial number, and a short description of the issue. Most firearm warranty and repairs claims are opened within one business day once we have that information, and we will tell you upfront whether the manufacturer or our in-house bench handles the repair.

What Voids a Firearm Warranty and Repairs Claim
Unauthorized gunsmithing, improper reloads, and neglecting basic maintenance are the most common reasons a firearm warranty and repairs claim gets denied. For general product safety and recall information that can affect a firearm warranty and repairs claim, see the ATF’s public resources.

Tracking Your Firearm Warranty and Repairs Status
Once a firearm warranty and repairs claim is opened, we send status updates by email at every major step: intake, diagnosis, parts ordering, and completion. Most firearm warranty and repairs claims for common parts wrap up within two to three weeks, though full manufacturer send-backs can take longer depending on the brand.
