Buying & Eligibility
How do I buy a firearm online?
You order the firearm online, then it ships to a licensed FFL dealer near you rather than to your home. At that dealer you complete a federal background check in person and pick up the firearm once you are cleared. See our How It Works page for the full walkthrough.
Who is eligible to purchase a firearm?
You must be at least 21 for handguns and NFA items and 18 for most long guns, pass a federal background check, and meet all applicable state and local requirements. Certain prohibited categories, such as felony convictions, disqualify a buyer under federal law.
Can you ship to my state?
Shipping rules vary by product and state. Ammunition typically ships directly to your door where state and local law allow it, while firearms and NFA items must transfer through a licensed FFL or SOT dealer near you. Check our State Restrictions page for details.
FFL Transfers
What is an FFL transfer and why do I need one?
An FFL transfer is the legal process of moving a firearm from an online retailer to you through a licensed local dealer. The firearm ships to your chosen FFL, where you complete the federal background check in person and take possession once cleared.
How do I choose a local FFL dealer?
During or after checkout you can select from our nationwide network of licensed FFL and SOT partners, or use your own preferred dealer as long as they agree to receive the transfer. Call ahead to confirm their transfer fee and hours before shipping.
How much does an FFL transfer fee cost?
Transfer fees are set by the receiving dealer, not by us, and typically range from about $20 to $50 per firearm. We recommend confirming the fee before placing your order.
Suppressors & NFA Items
What are NFA items and Class III firearms?
NFA items are regulated under the National Firearms Act and include suppressors, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, and machine guns. They require additional ATF paperwork, a tax stamp, and an approval wait, and they transfer only through a licensed SOT dealer.
Do I need a tax stamp to buy a suppressor?
Yes. Suppressors require an approved ATF Form 4 and a one-time $200 federal transfer tax, commonly called a tax stamp, before you can take possession.
How long does suppressor approval take?
Approval times vary, but eForm submissions are typically faster than paper filings. We keep you updated at every step until your stamp arrives.
Do I need a trust or can I buy as an individual?
You can purchase as an individual or through a gun trust. A trust can make it easier to share and pass down your NFA items. Our team explains both options in plain English.
Are suppressors legal in my state?
Suppressors are legal to own in most states but are prohibited in a few. Always verify that suppressors are legal where you live before ordering — see our State Restrictions page.
Ammunition
Can I buy ammunition online and have it shipped to my home?
In most states we can ship ammunition directly to your door, though some states and localities have restrictions or require an FFL or license. You must be of legal age and confirm your order complies with your state and local laws.

What is your return or cancellation policy?
Non-firearm accessories can generally be returned within the window described in our Return Policy if unused and in original packaging. Firearms and NFA items have limited return eligibility once a transfer or ATF process has begun.
